Under the Radar Brewery hops to Midtown Houston opening

HOUSTON, Texas — A new microbrewery, Under the Radar Brewery, is set to open in Midtown Houston in early 2016.

The new brewery will indeed be micro, only utilizing a 10-barrel system that will brew 1,000 barrels annually. In contrast, Karbach Brewing, a craft brewer based out of Houston, produces 30,000 barrels per year. The difference, co-founder Herb Garcia explained, is that Under the Radar doesn’t intend to can its beers to sell in stores. Rather, the company is strictly focused on selling kegs to restaurants and bars.

The brewery will also include a beer garden that will measure about 3,000 square feet and will be open as soon as the beginning of 2016.
