Trader Joe’s purchased a 728,530-square-foot warehouse on 38.8 acres in Irving for its first Texas distribution center. Slated to open later this year, the facility would provide over 200 new jobs, adding to the expansion boom Irving has experienced the past few years.

The specialty grocer is known for innovative and hard-to-find food for affordable prices – funky yet frugal.  While Trader Joe’s traditionally keeps mum about future plans, Texas is obviously a prime choice for the company’s expansion. After opening their first Texas store in Fort Worth last June, four more stores have been added.

Trader Joe’s is also on the verge of opening a Lower Greenville, Dallas location and has plans to open a store in Austin sometime in 2014.

Hiring for the Irving facility will begin in about three months. To view position and benefits information, or to download an application, visit Trader Joe’s Career Page.
